Holiday Marketing Tips for 2014

TurkeyDayIt’s that time of year, everyone!  Fall has officially arrived, and we’re counting down the days until Thanksgiving.  If you haven’t already started thinking about how your team will tackle your holiday marketing, now’s the time!  We’re seeing some great tips and ideas for holiday marketing on our favorite blogs, and thought we’d share a few with you.

First up, we love the Facebook holiday marketing ideas from the B2C blog.  A couple of our favorite tips include adding a seasonal touch to your logo or banner image; running a holiday promotion or competition; and a reminder to engage socially with your audience – start conversations, respond to feedback and promote discussions.

Next on our list is a set of holiday email marketing “dos and don’ts” from Marketo.  Their reminder to engage socially, not just by email, during the holiday season is especially helpful.  It’s likely that a large portion of your audience won’t check their email during the holidays, so keeping in touch via your social sites is particularly important.  We also like the suggestion to stand out from the crowd by remembering the less-popular holidays.  For example, did you know that today is “National Bittersweet Chocolate with Almonds Day”??  You can check out a list of the fun and forgotten holidays on the National Day Calendar.

Finally, we have a ridiculously cute infographic from Email Monks, with a host of email marketing tips for 2014.  Fun fact – almost 40% of purchases on Black Friday last year were made through mobile devices.  That’s a reminder to make sure your emails and site are responsive, and to keep social marketing high on your list of priorities.

As always, if you’re wondering how you can get to the next level with your marketing automation software in time for your holiday campaigns, just drop us a line.  The DRs are here to help!
