GoldieBlox is inspirational in many ways. As the mom of two girls, the product struck a chord with me. But there’s more than the product showing my girls that engineering isn’t just for boys – the company has a great story…and that strikes a chord with me too! A few of my favorite points from their journey:
- The entire company took time out of their normal “jobs” to put their heart and soul into the contest entry video
- They included their fans and friends to derive the best outcome
- “Vote daily” gave them the excuse to reach out via email and social to their fans every day. And they had fun with it – clever, funny posts.
- They made their audience feel empowered – they weren’t just backing a product, they were taking a stand to show their daughters that they had a place in this male dominated spot!
