Recap: June 2015 DC Eloqua User Group Meeting

The latest meeting of the DC Eloqua User Group was held on Thursday, June 11, 2015 at the Triblio office in Reston, VA. We had a wonderful turnout of around 50 Eloqua Users and Oracle staff all eager to share and learn from one another.

The event featured three presentations, each providing a future-oriented focus on how Eloqua fits in to the greater context of helping users implement comprehensive strategies to acheive marketing goals.

First, Nelson Ng, Senior Product Manager of Insight at Oracle, revealed exciting upcoming changes to the tool that will allow for more user-friendly reporting in the future. The rebuild of Insight will feature significant data structure changes, including the build of a new data warehouse and analytics layer, as well as a new user interface, all intended to make the tool more relevant, robust, and usable.

We also heard from Nick Panayi of CSC who discussed the keys to successful alignment of marketing and sales. Nick highlighted the importance of leveraging Eloqua and a myriad of other sales prospecting tools and reporting solutions that facilitate clear, effective internal communication necessary to implement workflow processes that best nurture and qualify leads. As a result, his team has achieved an impressive MQL to SAL conversion rate of over 80%!

Finally, Andre Yee, CEO of Triblio, offered an interesting perspective on bridging the gap of personalization from the email to web channels. Andre provided an overview of how Triblio’s product allows for cross-channel personalization using Eloqua data, as well as account-based targeting for unknown visitors and using personalized content to nurture and convert inbound web traffic.

We also held one round of brief interactive breakout sessions to provide the opportunity for users to share stories, ask questions, and learn from each other. The sessions included discussions on Insight Reporting, Data Management, Resource Management, and Web Data Lookups/Technical uses of Eloqua.
