The world is changing and we, as marketers, know this best. Some critics have touted that email is dead or dying, but the numbers are telling us otherwise. The fact is, email is still in its prime and doesn’t look like it’s going anywhere. What is changing, however, is where email is being viewed.
The world has gone mobile and we marketers must be on the forefront of this trend. 51% of emails are being opened on mobile devices. More than ever, we need to innovate and reinvent how we communicate with our target audience. Are we responding to developing trends, looking forward, and preparing for what’s next?
Responsive design has helped us to be viewed on mobile devices of any size and that’s awesome considering the rise of tablets and “smart watches.” It doesn’t end there. Getting seen in mailboxes hasn’t evolved without its own set of hurdles – from Google’s pre-sorting inbox tabs to Twitter’s new relevancy algorithm. We need to work even harder to cultivate a good experience for our target audience(s). We need to reinvent the email experience.
