In 2008, Carly was leading Marketing Operations for her employer when the VP of Marketing asked her to find a new email platform. The company had been operating on a homegrown tool that no longer tracked opens or clicks. In her research, she discovered marketing automation. When she presented it to her VP, she was told “I asked for a Cadillac and you brought me a Mercedes” to which Carly replied “there’s no point in going through the effort to implement a new marketing system if it’s not marketing automation…THIS is the future of marketing!” She built the business case, requirements documentation, vendor selection for her employer and the four sister companies to select a marketing automation tool.
Through the first 6 months of 2009, Carly served as the business lead for her company’s implementation and three sister companies’ implementations. Over the next 3 years, with her name on the line for this investment, she worked with the marketing teams to ensure they were leveraging all possible features of the system and finding success.
Carly’s passion for the progress of the marketing automation industry had grown so much that she wanted to become a key player and focus solely on that part of marketing. In the beginning of 2012, Carly stepped out to consult on marketing automation within her network. The word spread and the demand increased. Carly didn’t want to say no to new projects so she built a team.
Adam, seeing the excitement of the growth and power that marketing automation systems were bringing to the world of marketing brought his IT, project management and technical expertise to Definitive Results. Not only does he ensure the company runs like a well-oiled machine but is able to apply his years of system experience to the more technical projects and clients.
Definitive Results grew into a company where employees get to leverage their passion for marketing automation and their love of overcoming new obstacles on a daily basis.
